Our mission is to expose a fraudulent act

San Antonio Ghost.  Ghost in San Antonio.

It is our Mission Here to expose a Fraudulent Act. By Martin Leal of Alamo City Paranormal. Before doing so, we would like to make it clear. There are a number of reputable Paranormal Investigators that are willing to help you.

It has been brought to our attention that Martin Leal is saying we have been banned from the Alamo that is a Big Fat Lie!!

Here is what Martin Leal's web site says One competitor even uses the name of their tour as THE ALAMO GHOST HUNT.  The truth is that they have been banned from the Alamo and have no knowledge of the ghost activity at the most famous haunted location in San Antonio.

On 1/14/2008 The Daughters Of The Republic Of Texas ruled after the gates are closed at the Alamo, anyone is welcome to Ghost Hunt. Mr. Leal likes to tell people we are banned from the Alamo. That Bold Face Lie is what led to this ruling....

1999-2001 Martin Leal had a real shot, by 2001 everybody realized the one thing that was making him famous was the story of the San Antonio Ghost Tracks. That turned out to be a fake story just like just his slanderous acusations made against Alamo City Ghost Tours. One more Wanna Be Television Star proven to be a fake.

Martin Leal Brags about having his picture taken with Grant and Jason of Taps, like he is something special, to fool you into thinking he was included in this event with them.  The truth is he had to pay to attend a event that they were the paid attractions for. Martin Leal also paid to attend the event he is trying to convince people he is going to be at with Cris Fleming. He paid extra to get his picture taken with them.

martin and taps.png martin leal ladies picture.pngThis Lady wants you to know. Everybody at the events have a picture too

Mr. Leal was bragging about having pictures taken with Jason and Grant from Taps. Well I think almost everyone of the 300 people that paid to attend this event at the Stanly Hotel in Nov.of 2007 got a picture I know I sure did! Thank you for exposing this fraudulent jerk. I'd hate to have taken mylittle sister on this tour. That would have been such a waist of gas and money!!.  Taps does not list his so called event in May of 2008 either, They do state the events listed are the only official events of taps all others are lies. Mention Of Mr. Leal's Event.

thank you for exposing a fraudulent jerk for all of us. I'd hate to have not found your site and taken my little sister on his tour. We live quite a ways from San Antonio--that would have been such a waste of gas and money!

Oh! And a little more about the event!
www.DarknessRadio.com hosts these events with TAPS, and brings in many, many special guests. You pay to get in, and when you arrive the guests get badges, you know? ID-like cards on lanyards, with your group number on it. There is two nights of actual ghost hunting. My group was 29 or so people when we started, and we went to each of the haunted places, where a celebrity ghost hunter sat and waited. They gave us some information, and we used our own ghost hunting gear. (I had a digital voice recorder, a sony night-shot palmcorder, and a digital camera.) And that's how it went. It was fun. I started with Mr. Zaffis in a haunted room, and we got amazing K-2 readings in response to questioning, then to Rosemary Ellen Guilley, who was down in the tunnels (where TAPS got the little girl's voice on the live 06 show), then we went to another room, where Chris Fleming was (that man is hilarious, I recommend catching him in a good mood to anyone going to a TAPS event), then from there to the Concert Hall, where Grant was. Jason didn't get to ghost hunt the first night, as he had to be in California for Larry King. But it was still amazing.

Request_Comments - You mentioned how Mr. Leal was bragging about having pictures with Jason & Grant from TAPS? Well, I think almost every one of the 300 people that paid to attend a conference with them at the Stanley this November got a picture. I know I sure did!

They love their fans, they're very kind.
I also have my picture taken with John Zaffis (35yrs in the field of Demonology), John Oliver and Patrick Burns (Haunting Evidence)--and I have video with all of them, and with Chris Fleming. But, so do most of the 299 other people who were at the event. :) Really, it wasn't even that expensive to go. At any rate. This is just proof for you that anyone can get a picture with these guys at an event. It does not make you an expert, or anything "special". You're just another person with proof of meeting someone awesome. I just wanted the pictures for scrapbooking my vacation to Colorado, myself. Have a great day!

View a video were Martin Leal of Alamo City Paranormal is calling the members of Taps a bunch of plumbers, Yet he tries to fool people into thinking he is close to them. See for your self

Martin Leal of Alamo City Paranormal States on his web site how he has been a paid entertainer with many famous stars Martin Leal has also worked as a paid
entertainer on movie and TV projects with Jennifer Aniston, Matt Damon, Gary Busey,
Sam Elliot, George Hamilton, Tom Berenger, Jet Li, Chuck Norris, Cat Deeley, Edith
Bowman and many others. Check out his acting ability here watch these videos.

Example of Martin Leal's acting here is more of this wanna be famous actor, Martin Leal   You can see with all his actor type presence, he has spent lots of time on the big screen. You can tell just by watching this video. This man is a complete fool.

Martin Leal says

We are the only Ghost Tour in the United States that lets you use the ghost glasses. Something we have been working on for ten years, the latest development in helping people see ghosts with their own eyes. THIS SORT OF NEW TECHNOLOGY IS WHAT MAKES ALAMO CITY PARANORMAL ONE OF THE TOP GHOST RESEARCH GROUPS IN THE USA. These are a real treat

This is what  Martin Leal's brochure uses as one of his Qualifications

Investigations in 30 states in the USA, Canada, Mexico, and Europe. Leal has appeared in TV shows in 30 countries. He has been a Paranormal Consultant for Jenny Jones, Christina, History, Discovery, and the Travel Channel, Fox, ABC, NBC, and many more. Here he was a Paranormal Consultant for  every major net work in the country. Yet, when Martin Leal Starts his tour he tells people the best thing he ever done was appear on Jenny Jones in 2001.   Actually what he means is he was on a talk show that was shown in 31 countries, he is such a fake.

From Martin Leal's own mouth.

THE SHOW THAT APPEARED IN 30 COUNTRIES WAS about five years ago. It was DONE WITH CHRISTINA ON THE SPANISH CHANNEL. I HAVE A COPY OF IT YOU IDIOT.  Catch that, "the show" just one show!  That was the better part of ten years ago. One more lie

Martin Leal says business week claims him to be one of the top paranormal investigators in the world.            Read the truth at the link below  http://www.businessweek.com/technology/content/may2005/tc20050512_6388_tc024.htm

Martin Leal Says FRAUD ALERT, there are some other ghost hunt tours in San Antonio saying their tour is the same as what we do and have even copied the look of our advertising and go by similar names. Yet he clearly states his his names are "Hauntings History" and "Alamo City Paranormal", are trademarked names of Martin Leal. How does The Alamo Ghost Hunt or Alamo City Ghost Tours copy him in any way. What Martin Leal's problem is, his tour is bad and the Alamo Ghost Hunt for the last 3 yrs has been chosen by the Ghost Hunting Community and the Locals alike.

Halloween of 2006 Martin Leal Said

I HAD ABOUT A DOZEN PEOPLE ON HALLOWEEN SHOW UP ASKING FOR THE JR TOUR BECAUSE OF THE RADIO SHOWS YOU DID. I TELL THEM WE DO NOT HAVE A JR HERE AND I WILL ONLY CHARGE THEM OUR PRICES. THEY ARE THE ONES THAT WENT WITH ME, HAHAHA. THEY REALIZED YOUR A RIP OFF. ITS NOT STEALING, ITS ALL ABOUT CUSTOMERS REALIZING YOUR A THEIF.

Martin Leal also said:

I don't steal any customers. If they ask for the legends tour I just tell them what I do and if they pick my tour, then its not stealing. I never have had to tell anyone, yes, this is the legends tour or the jr tour? Its all about ghost tour customers realizing they made a mistake making reservations for inferior tours when they get to Alamo Plaza.

October 13 2006 This is an email from a customer who got scammed by Martin Leal!!

Got scammed by Martin Leal! Missed and outstanding tour with you guys!!!! Me and 4 others! We asked where the ghost hunters were meeting and they said here. We kept saying we were suppose to go on a tour bus to the grave yards and they played dumb. Evidently from now totally reading the graveyard tour site...they do play dumb. How can we get our money back? https://odr.bbb.org/odrweb/public/GetStarted.aspx file a complaint Martin will be forced to give your money back. Don't Be Scammed

Here is Martins Reply to the above email:

LET ME GET THIS STRAIGHT. THEY ASKED ABOUT A TOUR BUS THAT GOES TO A GRAVEYARD AND WE PLAYED DUMB?? YEAH, BECAUSE WE DON'T DO THAT. LEGENDS DOES NOT DO THAT. This makes no sense to me at all if I'm the only one doing these tours then that would even make more sense that Martin Leal Deliberately lied to these folks.

Martin Leal Bragging again about stealing more of my customers.

Jason said he had two people show up that were looking for you and ended up going with him and putting money in my pocket. THANKS AGAIN LOSER.

I had four 16 and 17 year olds show up on my tour Wednesday night. They said they did not know what ghost tour they researved with that I told them I would only charge them $20 for all four of them and they went on my tour. Humm, Did I steal your customers or did they just realize your a rip off when they got down to Alamo Plaza. Martin Leal will do anything to get people to take his tour. I never have let anybody believe my tour was his or tried to hide his location.

Martin Said:

Lets see, my ghost tours in January were up 75% over last January, since the competition started in October. A fool bragging that he has stolen enough customers that his business is up 75% Martin Leal thinks this is how you run a business by lying stealing and any other means of low life manner. He even admits his employees are involved in this Scam being played on the tourist and locals a like.

The reason Alamo City Ghost tours has survived the low life moves these people have pulled on us is because.

Alamo City Ghost Tours, is the only tour listed on the city of San Antonio's website, we are also the only ghost tour to have their tickets given away by the Radio Stations for thier Halloween Promotions, along with Sea World, Fiesta Texas, Ripleys Haunted Adventure, Ripleys Wax Museum, and Grayson Street Haunted House. We are the only ones listed in the San Antonio Spurs Official Yearbook

Even today  Martin Leal's website states.

If you were lucky enough to read the June 28th article in the Oklahoman (Oklahoma City newspaper) about Marcia Shottenkirk's trip to San Antonio, you will read that this is the most fun tour in San Antonio. Marcia should know about these things, she is the travel writer for that newspaper.

Now what Martin Leal isn't telling you that it was written in June of 1998 in order to deceive you into thinking his tour is still popular. That is no longer true. People figured out he is full of crap so he created more lies on his brochures. It is the same old tour. Yes you would have to be amazing to have read it this past June.

Martin Leal Says ALSO BE AWARE OF THE GHOST TOURS IN SAN ANTONIO THAT HAVE YOU PREPAY WITH A STRONG NO REFUND POLICY. IT HAS BECOME A PROBLEM
WITH THEM HAVING TOUR GUIDES SHOW UP DRUNK. Nobody shows up drunk but Martin Leal himself. The Statement below was left on his Guest Book

And if you happen to get a tip...DON'T tell the group your going to buy a beer with it. Moron! Your very unprofessional. I will tell everyone not to waste their money and you made it all up about being voted the most popular ghost tour. I want my $10 back!!! That's if you didn't spend it on alcohol. Loser.

There is so many more things to go on about, this is just some of the crap Martin Leal has pulled. We hope this keeps you from being one of his victims like this lady.

More From Martin Leal's Customers

The Point  here is, if I made any of this up or had anybody file any false complaints.  I would be open for a self made Slander Case. This is all true and factual information as the emails where received. Just peoples personal information such as email addresses and so on have been removed.

COMPLAINT ACTIVITY REPORT Case # 90082309 The Better Business Bureau

Consumer Info:  Rich

Business Info: Alamo City Paranormal

Consumer's Original Complaint :

This is difficult to explain as this was a Ghost Tour in San Antonio, TX and is largely a Buyer Beware. However what

appears to be occuring is a tourist scam run by someone named Martin Leal. This person may or may not be affiliated

with Alamo City Paranormal or Alamo City Ghost Tours. That's up to them to deny and do something about. However,

there is currently no way for a tourist to protect themself on something like this. Below I have copied the complaint that I

sent to Ghost City tours, which should suffice as a complaint to the BBB:

I don't know anything else to say but that I believe that my family and I were taken in by this crap last Friday (7/28/06).

Being tourists in from Colorado, we found a flyer for a Ghost Hunt for $10.00 a person ($5.00 for our child) and we were

to meet a tthe Cenotaph in Alamo Plaza. We did so, along with about 100 other people. We were greeted by a man

wearing an Alamo City Paranormal baseball cap, and who was joined by an idiot dressed in a horrendous "cowboy" outfit

who had a "ghost gun" in his holster (we really should have left right then). We were split into two groups (we went with

the idiot cowboy), and were sat outside of the Emily Morgan for 30 minutes listening to local legend about Emily See a video of this idiot Peter The Fool. See him Here

(ok...whatever). We were then shepherded to an alley, and asked to sit facing a parking garage while idiot began to tell

"ghost stories" (and really bad versions at that, plus he couldn't talk his way out of a paper bag). All of these stories we

pretty much knew, and I think we knew them much better than he did. Then we were guided over to the Menger Hotel,

for the final 30 minutes of crap again. At this point we re-joined the other group, and our large group of 100+ people were

down to a handful. We knew this was a waste at this point, but we had to see how it turned out. That and our daughter

really wanted to see the "equipment". So, we get to the "equipment". I studied these special glasses pretty well. Crap.

All crap. Plain and simple. In fact, I should have taken my $10 worth right there, and destroyed them. Nonetheless, this

guy then explains the digital thermometer. Hands it to my daughter. Then with his obvious superb powers of observation

that he catches ghosts with, he notices that my 9 year old little girl is not 18 years old. He states that no one under 18

can use the thermal gauge because of the laser sight, and issues with aiming it police officers (what the hell are you

talking about here dude? What a load of bunk.), and then he takes it away from her. Of really interesting note is that a

13 year old boy ended up with it 2 minutes later. That kid thought that he found a ghost when pointing it at window that

was close to an AC unit. A fact that my 9 year old pointed out to him ("It's colder on that window because the AC blows

right there inside the building." Should have just let her kept the thing dumbass, she would have at least been more

reliable.)

This whole tour was a fraudulent waste of time. I'd like to do all that I can to prevent more and more people from being

taken in by this, but being in Colorado I'm not sure how to do this. One thing that perhaps could be done is to somehow

make people aware of this scam. People need to know the name Martin Leal. Honestly, unless I knew who Martin Leal

was beforehand, I would have still gone on this tour.

To keep his name and operation from reflecting badly on any legitimate operation, it is the duty and responsibility of the

legitimate organization to take the appropriate steps to distance themselves or proceed with litigation against an offender.

In this case, the person who "ran" the tour made the impression that this was part of Alamo City Paranormal. A

complaint will be filed with the San Antonio Police, the Better Business Bureau, and the San Antonio Chamber of

Commerce on my experience in the coming week. I will be happy to do anything I can with any legitimate agency to bring

this fraud to an end. My suggestion would be to only offer tours by reservation only, and to begin a public campaign to

warn tourists of potential fraud. We stayed at the Red Roof Inn off of I-37, and they had a little "flyer-type" booklet (about

an inch and a half by 5 inches) that we saw the ad in. People on the tour had typical folding-style flyers that had the

words "GHOST HUNT" on them in a "dripping-blod" font. Please feel free to use my name publicly, but keep my email

and other private information undisclosed to the public unless specifically requested for investigation purposes by a law

enforcement agency or by a representative of the City of San Antonio, the Chamber of Commerce, or the Better Business

Bureau.

Thanks!

Consumer's Desired Resolution:

I would love to receive my $35.00 back for 3 adults and one child. While one could say that we received a Ghost Hunt, it

was apparent to all involved that this was a rip-off. Not one of us however had the ability to verify any legitimacy of this at

all. This was a scam plain and simple. This Martin Leal person has many "posts" on the Internet stating that he's simply

smarter at business than everyone else, and that they are jealous. Fact is, this is a scam.

This Email was just sent to me on 5/30/06 I had left 5 min. early I thought all our guest had arrived already, but these guest missed our tour. At this time they seen Martin Leal this is the email I received

Request_Name - Brenda

Request_Email - bw_kayla@yahoo.com

Request_Comments - My boyfriend and I are locals of San Antonio, and we participated in your ghost tour of the Alamo Plaza on Sat. May 20. We arrived at the "rock wall" next to the visitor center at 9pm as instructed. We waited for 20 minutes and no one showed. Let me just add here that there is no defining rock wall next to the visitor center. There are a few rock structures that people can sit on next to the center and then there is the wall of the visitor center building itself- but then this is not 'next to' the visitor center. After calling your number only to get voicemail we finally saw a group near the Alamo. They were walking toward the Emily Morgan, so we ran after them and asked one of the tourists if they were part of the ghost tour and they said yes. So we missed the first 20 minutes of the tour, but we were happy to find them. (Although, if we were on time right at 9pm they must have started the tour early.) When we arrived at the part of the tour near the Hyatt, the tour guide (cannot recall his name but he has sandy brownish hair, wears glasses, and has a Society of the Paranormal cap) rudely asked us if we had just joined the group. This conversation took place in front of a crowd of about 30 people. I began explaining that we were about 20 minutes late but that we were able to catch up but the tour guide interrupted my explanation and said, "Ya, you owe me 20 bucks." This behavior, his tone of voice, and the fact that he interrupted me as if he didn't believe me suggested to us and everyone else that he believed us to be someone off the street trying to sneak in to get a free tour. To avoid conflict, we paid our $20 although we had MISSED a good portion of it and we did not complain. We deserved much more respect than we got. We were singled out, embarrassed, and disrespected in front of the group. I have worked in the customer service/tourist industry, and we were always instructed to treat customers with courtesy and respect. (Are you familiar with the phrase "The customer is always right"?) Not only were we treated with disrespect, but we were also embarrassed in front of a large group of people. We are locals, and if your tour guides treat tourists in this same manner, I would advise you to do your business a favor by training your guides to display a nicer attitude. Perhaps next time this tour guide can give the customer the benefit of the doubt rather than make accusatory remarks and behavior? Also, your tour is more an attempt at a failing stand-up comedy routine rather than a scary tour. Sitting on the steps at the Hyatt for 30 minutes is just a space filler. Also, on your website prior to our tour, the cost was listed at $5 per person. As you read earlier, we were charged $10 per person. The fact that your description of where to meet is very detailed on your website suggests to me that you have had problems with people knowing where to meet in the past. We followed your instuctions perfectly, and no one was there at 9. So either your instructions are still faulty OR the tour started earlier than it should have. Either way, something should change. It was a waste of money and time, and I will not recommend this tour to anyone local or from out of town. (Think about this Martin Leal's tour had already been going on 45 minutes by then and they were still in the Alamo Plaza they were not a 100 feet from where they started.) We were already on our way to 12 other haunted locations.

Comments: Martin....your ghost tour totally sucked ass. I've been on several other ghost tours and they all put yours to shame. Try to learn the real history and real ghost stories of San Antonio before you take these poor people's money and lead them on a long boring walk. Lose the jokes, they were far from funny. Oh and that tempature reader isn't to detect ghosts...I have one at home. Your goggles looked like old welding goggles too. Also....you need to stop using vulgar language especially around young children. There was a 6 yr old in our group and you said a few unapropriate words. And those ridiculous goggles that were falling apart. How pathetic! Beware...total rip off! Don't waste your time..energy or good money on this.
